In this project, I built AboutFood.blog, a healthy food and lifestyle website. It serves as a go-to resource for delicious recipes, food inspiration, and practical wellness tips. The goal was to inspire readers to embrace a healthier lifestyle with simple, enjoyable choices. This platform makes healthy eating more accessible and fun for everyone.
  • Diverse Recipes & Collections: Offers a wide range of recipes for every meal and diet, including seasonal collections that provide inspiration all year round.
  • Nutrition & Wellness Guides: Provides easy-to-understand articles on nutrition, diet trends, and healthy living tips to complement the recipes. These guides help readers learn about food, health, and lifestyle beyond just cooking.
  • User-Friendly Design: Features a clean, responsive design with clear categories and navigation, making it simple to find content on any device. The layout emphasizes readability and engaging visuals.
  • Regular Updates: Continuously adds new recipes and articles, ensuring readers always have fresh content and ideas for healthy living. This keeps the audience engaged and coming back for more.
  • Next.js and React: Used to build a fast, dynamic blog platform with server-side rendering for SEO-friendly pages.
  • MDX (Markdown): Chosen for writing and managing content in a simple, portable format that integrates with the site’s React components.
  • Styled-Components: Utilized for styling the website with component-scoped CSS, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all pages.
  • Vercel: Employed for hosting and continuous deployment, allowing quick updates and global delivery of content to readers.
One challenge was making sure the content is accurate yet easy to understand. I spent a lot of time researching nutrition and health topics to ensure all information is correct. Then I translated that knowledge into friendly, concise articles that anyone can follow. I learned to balance being educational with being engaging so that readers stay interested and informed. On the development side, a key challenge was building a blog that can grow easily. I had to organize recipes and articles with clear categories and tags to keep the site scalable and well-structured as content expands. I also focused on performance and SEO, making sure pages load fast and are search-friendly to reach a wider audience. Another learning was setting up a smooth workflow for content updates, so adding new posts is simple and error-free. Through this project, I learned how to blend content strategy with technical development effectively. The AboutFood blog launched successfully and has grown into a vibrant platform for healthy living content. It now features a rich collection of recipes and wellness articles that engage a broad audience. Readers find the content approachable and motivating, which encourages them to try new healthy habits. The blog continues to expand with regular new posts, helping more people make informed, nutritious food choices every day.
This project demonstrates your ability to build engaging, content-driven web platforms, which is highly relevant for portfolios focused on user experience and content strategy.
